Evolution, Margolis' second release, (which features multiple Grammy winning tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson and blues guitar ace Joe Louis Walker) rocketed to the Top 10 on the nation's radio charts and was picked as one of the best jazz releases of 1994 by the Village Voice, Jazziz, Coda and the San Francisco Examiner. In this genre-bending collection, Margolis leads her listeners blindfolded through an exciting jazz labyrinth. This eclectic effort prompted young trumpet lion Roy Hargrove to say "Kitty Margolis raises the stakes in the world of jazz singing. She is a hard-hitting improviser and a soulful interpreter. This girl is swinging!"But perhaps the highest compliment came from jazz legend Lionel Hampton who exclaimed, "The next great jazz voice is Kitty Margolis!"
